The Saskatchewan Health Authority announced 449 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday. That's the highest mark the province has recorded in one day.

Eighty-nine per cent of those cases were in people that weren't fully vaccinated.

Four new cases came in South East Sub Zone 4, bringing the active count for Estevan's area to 35.

The entire South East Zone had 11 new cases, but saw its active count decrease by four to 141.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 377.

Four new deaths were recorded, bringing that count to 625.

Hospitalizations rose by 11 to 209.

The province has also re-enacted an emergency order to deal with rising COVID-19 hospitalizations.

Premier Scott Moe announced plans to do so during a Friday press conference. This gives the government power to redirect healthcare workers to areas experiencing pressure from COVID-19, and is effective immediately.

The emergency order expired on July 11.
