The Voltz In action during their 13-1 win against the Regina Axemen.

The Peewee Estevan Voltz are off to a good start in the Queen City Minor Box Lacrosse League. The 4-1 Voltz were just too much for both clubs from Regina.

In the first game of the afternoon, the Voltz dismantled the Honey Badgers 7-2. In the second game the Voltz took it to the Axemen in a 13-1 drubbing.

"We came out well, we were up 2-0 after the first and 4-0 after the second," said Head Coach Trevor Mcnabb, "The second game we competed well, slowed things down and played some real good lacrosse."

With two solid offensive outputs in both games, Mcnabb noted the play of his two goalies as a key factor.

"I'd like to say congratulations to both goalies, we rotated the goalies through both games. Only 3 goals against in two games, that's something to be proud of," he said with enthusiasm.

A big part in the teams victories was Shawn Von Sprecken, who scored 5 goals combined during the Voltz two wins.

"In our couple of games today we stepped up and moved the ball around well, it turned out I got five goals."

"I want to set more picks, move around lots and keep it in their end. I just want to continue to have a good season," Von Sprecken said.

Another youngster making an impact for the Voltz was Kersey Hollingshead, who was recently selected to play for Team Sask.

"We did really good, we scored some goals and played well"

"I want to be a big team player, getting some assists and goals. I just want to do good in the season for our team," noted Hollingshead.

The Voltz play their next game's on Saturday, May 27th against the Weyburn Thrashers at 11:00 AM and Standing Buffalo at 2:45 PM.

Both games will be played inside Affinity Place.
