Heavy winds and mixed precipitation are in the forecast for Estevan and the area.

Environment Canada issued a wind warning, as they say an intensifying low-pressure system will bring strong winds Tuesday as it moves across the province.

Showers are expected Monday night in Estevan as the wind increases and the temperature rises to 5 C Tuesday morning.

The wind is expected to gust up to 60 kph Monday evening, and 90 kph Tuesday afternoon. The temperature is expected to fall to around the freezing mark on Tuesday before blowing snow hits the southeast Tuesday night and Wednesday.

"Winds will remain strong, but below warning criteria on Tuesday evening and reduced visibilities in blowing snow will continue until Wednesday morning," read the warning from Environment Canada. "Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break."
