A charity barbecue brought in $720 for the Estevan Humane Society on Tuesday.

"We always have vet bills to pay, of course our animals need to eat," said Natascha Berndt, a board member with the humane society. "And we have some renovations going on at the shelter to make it more welcoming for the animals and for the public of course."

"That is so wonderful...the animals will be so thankful."

Berndt also encouraged Estevan residents to come support the humane society.

"Just come down to the shelter, support our animals, take them for a walk, play with the kittens," she said. "Come and adopt an animal."
