Estevan Minor Football will be attending City Wide Registration this fall, looking to drum up more eager players for their teams.

Paul Duncan, Estevan Minor Football President and Head Coach, told Discover Estevan that the Estevan Lions Club Bantam Oilers are looking for youth, ages 13-15 to join the program.

“It’s not just about playing sports,” he explained. “As coaches, we really like to focus on developing young adults into becoming contributing members of society, as well.”

The Oilers have an exciting season coming up; with practices on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, as well as a full game schedule that includes away trips to Moose Jaw, Swift Current, and of course, Weyburn.

“We take buses to Moose Jaw and Swift Current,” Duncan said. “And carpools can be organized for Weyburn games to make travel easier.”

When asked if prospective players needed any previous experience, Duncan told us that no experience is needed. “One of the great things about football,” he said, “is that no matter your body type, size, height, or experience, we have a spot for you!”
