The 2018 SaskTel Tankard is doing more than showcasing the skills of men's curling, they are also giving kids a chance to be part of the action. This is all part of the Junior Stars Program and they received a show of support this morning when they received $1,000 from First Line Plumbing.

"I just figured it was good for the young kids to get involved with this big curling event," shared Joel Moriarty, owner of First Line Plumbing. "It's a good opportunity for them to see some high level curlers and learn a little bit from them."

Although he may be a hockey fan at heart, he is still looking forward to the Tankard.

"I've taken up curling with my wife being involved in it. It's a fun game to watch and it will definitely be good competition coming to town."

"It's just good for the community to have a big event like this. "
