The Carbon Capture and Storage facility at Boundary Dam Power Station outside of Estevan returned to service on December 7 after its scheduled outage was reported in November.

In the month of December, the facility captured over 57.5 thousand tonnes of carbon dioxide for a total surpassing 616,000  tonnes captured for 2019 as a whole.

The average daily capture rate in December was 2,504 tonnes per day with a peak one-day capture rate of 2,863 tonnes.

Their acid plant at the facility also returned to service in late December and produced 104 tonnes of sulfuric acid.
