For the second straight game the Eagle Drilling Estevan Bruins were involved in a wild game, this time coming up short 6-5 in overtime to the Battlefords Northstars.

The Bruins got started the in the first as Mark Cross scored on a nice pass from Troy Hunter to make it 1-0 after the first. But Battlefords went on a tear in the second as they scored 3 goals in the second to give them a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes.

The Northstars would score once again in the third, but then it was just another Bruins comeback. Kyle Johnson scored to cut the lead to make it 4-2. Then Mark Cross fed a perfect pass to a pinching Lucas Stubel as he buried a shot top shelf to make it a one goal game.

And then with under a minute left in regulation, Justin Waskewitch made a couple of dekes around a pair of Northstars to set up Troy Hunter who scored and tied the game up. Then 19 seconds later Ryan Anderson scored to give the Bruins the lead, but Battlefords would give the Bruins a taste of their own medicine as they scored with under a second left to tie the game and send it into overtime.

Off a turnover, the Northstars would break in on a 2-1 and Blake Tatchell put it top shelf and put the game to bed.

With the Bruins one point they are 2 points back of Yorkton, and they have the chance to tie the Terriers when they take on the Humboldt Broncos in Humboldt.
