The Apex Midget AA Bruins hosted the 1st place Notre Dame Argos at the Civic last night and decisively beat them 4-1. The Bruins played a tight defensive game all night long and capitalised on their own scoring chances.

Goaltender Nate Ferris almost completed the shutout but allowed one goal to sneak buy him. After the game, Head Coach Tom Copeland proclaimed him as the star of the game, as he set the defensive tone all game. The Bruins also played very physical and sacrificed themselves to block shots throuhgout the game.

On offense, their big line of Dylan Johner, Dylan Herzberg and Mark Moriarty carried the load once again. They were on the ice for all 4 goals. Coach Copeland wasn't surprised by another big effort from his 3 leaders, but was more impressed with his teams overall play. He says "Our powerplay was good, they came early and they came often. When we play at a high level we do a good job of keeping the puck deep. Our defense did a fantastic job of boxing guys out." The Bruins are now just 1 point back of the Argos for first place.

The Bruins will next be in action on Friday when they travel to Melville.
