The Eagle Drilling Estevan Bruins were defeated by the Notre Dame Hounds in their final preseason game by a count of 3-1.

The Hounds would strike first as halfway through the first period as Catlin Foley scored first to give the Hounds a 1-0 lead.

Thats how the score would hold up until the second when the Hounds would extend their lead by a total of 2-0 when Kale Derkson would score for Notre Dame.

The Bruins would rebound short handed as Troy Hunter would score for the Bruins to cut the lead in half at 2-1.

But in the third period the Hounds would put the game to bed with Derkson scoring his second of the game, this time the goal came on the powerplay as the Hounds win by a score of 3-1.

The Bruins have ended their preseason and will announce their final roster either today or tomorrow.

The Bruins will be without Ward Szucki to start the season, as he was suspended for a pair of games for checking from behind from Friday's game against Yorkton.

The Bruins will kick off the regular season on Thursday when they head to Melville to take on the Mils. The Bruins first game at the Civic Auditorium is on Saturday, in a rematch against the Mils.
