EPYC unveiled its new location over the weekend, hosting an opening day event on Friday followed by weekend activities.

They moved into the new location set at 1104 6th street around the start of the month with EPYC leaving their space at the Estevan Leisure Center.

That free drop-in event was done to show off the new locale's advantages, which mainly come from the fact that the space is now fully dedicated to EPYC.

Executive Director Juli Dzuba says that the first event in the new location went well.

"I think everybody was excited to be in our new space, it was very exciting to have things to do like we had our ping pong table up, and we had our shuffleboard out and our air hockey. It was really exciting, and we had a lot of things to do."

Since they've been in the space for a small amount of time, they're still looking to put some finishing touches on the place.

"We're definitely still finding ways to settle into our space, we're still getting a few more games coming in," said Dzuba, "We're getting our pool table set up for this weekend. We're also looking into different types of funding like grants so that we can renovate our space."

The positivity around the new space was also shared by those who attended some of the events over the weekend.

"They enjoyed the new space," said Dzuba, "They were excited to have a bit more of a space of their own, and just having more activities to participate in was a big deal."

Another factor with the new space is an increase in available hours, as now EPYC will be moving to provide activities during the weekday.

"Next week we are going to be starting our after-school hours, so we're going to open from 2:30 to 5:30 for drop-in," said Dzuba, "So you can come when you're done school or if they have maybe their last period free they can stop by, and just come and utilize the things we have."

Overall, Dzuba says that the change is a positive one.
