The Estevan Brewers U18 AA team has had a lot of success this past season, rising to the top of their league with a stellar record of 22-2.

Now, after finishing their regular season over the weekend with four more wins, they're looking ahead to what they can do this postseason.

They've got league playoffs coming in just a week, though since other teams are still having games, though don't yet know who they'll face.

Coach Tim Miller says they're preparing by staying calm and not thinking about any expectations due to their place in the league.

"Right now we're relaxed, they're confident. We don't want them to feel any pressure from being the first-place team in the league, and stuff," said Miller, "Just keep practices light and keep everyone in a good mood. Don't put any pressure on them, just play the game."

The team has had a lot of fun this season, which Miller attributes to their success on the diamond.

"There's been a lot of fun, when you're winning it's easier to come to the ball diamond with a smile on your face," said Miller, "That always helps, and the kids get along great so that shows on the diamond."

One of the key parts of their success has been the team's depth, being able to field a large number of batters.

"Our pitching was solid, very solid, and for the most part we had a good defense and we have a deep lineup for hitting," said Miller, "So even if the bats are struggling in a game you just know our offense can explode with 7 runs in an inning."

Miller says that they're looking forward to playoffs, even as the team they'll be facing remains a mystery.

"The schedule isn't set yet, but it'll be starting sometime next week," said Miller, "The league playoffs will be single elimination so we'll get the 4th place team in our division, which we still don't know who it's going to be."

The team also has provincials, which will be happening the weekend of August 13th.
