Estevan was one of the many detachments celebrating the 150th anniversary of the RCMP.

The official date of the 150-year celebration was May 23, with a few detachments including Estevan celebrating later in the summer.

The event included free hamburgers and hot dogs, along with a choice of donuts or a slice of commemorative cake.

Constable Kyle Secord was one of the members who attended the event in full dress, which he says was well attended.

There were also bouncy castles and other attractions for young families to take their children to during the three-hour event.

Secord says it's great to be part of an organization with so much history.

It's a great feeling. I only have about four years and just the thought of the 150 years that the RCMP have been active, It's great to know that myself and others are part of a big organization like this that has been around for so long."
