UPDATE:

Estevan Fire Rescue Chief Rick Davies said they were dispatched to the fire at 12:30 p.m.

“Crews were able to quickly bring the fire under control and contain damages to the immediate structure,” he said in a statement.

There were no reported injuries. Firefighting crews were back in service after about two hours.

The Estevan Police Service is investigating the blaze, as the fire was deemed suspicious.

Estevan Fire Rescue is not commenting any further because the investigation is ongoing.


The Estevan Police Service along with fire crews were on the scene of a house fire in the 400 block of 3rd Street on Friday afternoon.

Police said the fire was put out and there were no injuries.

Investigators are treating the fire as suspicious.

Police are asking the public to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
