It was a rough start to the season for the Toronto Blue Jays, with a late 9th inning 5-4 loss to the Texas Rangers.

Things had started out nicely with Vernon Wells hitting a 2 run home run off of Scott Feldman in the first inning to make it a 2--0 lead.

Adam Lind would soon connect on a homer of his own to make it 3-0 after the third.

The Jays had a solid start from starter Shawn Marcum who went 6 innings and did not give up a hit. In the 7th inning Nelson Cruz nailed a 3 run homer to tie the game at 3.

Then after the Jays regained a 1 run lead, newly appointed closer Jason Frasor came on in the 9th and was unable to hold onto the lead as the Rangers scored twice to make the final 5-4.

Toronto will have the day off today, before return to action against the Rangers tomorrow and then wrap up their 3 game series on Thursday.

The next action of Jays Baseball on CJ1280 is Saturday when the Jays face off with the Baltimore Orioles, the action begins at 4:30.
