The Estevan Police Service announced that a man and woman are facing charges related to dealing cocaine after a search warrant was executed this past weekend.

The EPS said they conducted a drug-trafficking investigation that resulted in the authorization of the search warrant. On Saturday, June 10, the EPS used the Weyburn and Estevan Police Services Joint Tactical Support Team to gain entry to a residence for the search.

Police seized an estimated $10,000 street value of illicit drugs along with nearly $1,000 in Canadian currency.

A 29-year-old man and 34-year-old woman were arrested without incident and charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime not exceeding $5,000.

They were released on conditions and are scheduled for their first court appearances on August 14 in Estevan Provincial Court. They have not been named.

The EPS asks anyone with information on drug trafficking to contact the Estevan Police Service Drug Intel Unit at 306-634-1522 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
