Practices have already begun for the U18 Kinettes Viragos as they gear up for their third season on the field in all-new colored jerseys!

The team colors have gone from dark black and green to grey and green with an NFL fit.

"It was a collaboration between the players and the coaches. We just wanted something new and to help us stand out." said Viragos Head Coach Mark Tribiger.

Tribiger encourages those interested in playing girls' minor league football to get in touch with the team and join the season.

"Right now, we are sitting with a roaster of about 15 players roughly. Ideally, it would be nice to have 24 but we are making do with what we got right now."

The annual EMF fundraiser is another highlight of the season to look forward to that helps cover equipment costs.

The Viragos will play their first fall season game Saturday, September 9th, against the Melville Vipers. Kick-off is at 5 p.m. at the Woodlawn Athletic Field.

"We just want to draw more people out to our game and see that female football is a pretty big sport that is growing in Saskatchewan."
