A pair of road wins this week has the U18 AAA Southeast Twins atop the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League standings with an impressive 20-2 record.

The Twins continue to score runs at a torrid pace thanks to a potent offensive attack that is spearheaded by sluggers Carter Beck and Callum Hollinger.

"Most of our offensive stuff starts with the two guys in the middle of our lineup, Callum Hollinger and Carter Beck," said Twins Head Coach Blair Beck. "They're both pushing .500 batting averages. We have a good lineup up and down, but they drive us offensively."

The Twins have now won 11 games in a row. Beck also credits other areas of the diamond for their success.

"Our outfield is really solid and they make a lot of catches, that really helps. We're fast, we're able to run the bases really well. Defensively, we've been pretty solid," Beck said. "We have a really good group of kids. The kids have a really good culture going and they kind of look after themselves to make our job easy as coaches and they come to work every day."

Beck said they had high expectations going into the season.

"I don't know if 20-2 would have been our expectation, but we definitely knew with the group of kids that we had coming back that we had a real good chance of being successful, and the kids have proven us right. It's been fun to watch," Beck said.

The Twins have already clinched their spot for provincials, which will be played July 28-30 in Saskatoon.
