The town of Wawota has their biggest weekend of the year planned with Wawota Heritage Days, so we thought it was only fitting to salute them today. This community of just over 600 people puts on one of the biggest parties every year in the southeast, including a rodeo, talent show, and parade.

It's name comes from an indigenous language and means "deep snow" which is often fitting in this part of the world. Home of the Big Six Hockey League's Wawota Flyers, and a natural amphitheater that has hosted many events such as RCMP musical rides, the town of Wawota is a jewel in the crown of the southeast.

Today we want to not only wish Wawota the best with Wawota Heritage Days but also thank them for being part of our listening audience for decades. Thanks, Wawota!
