HIGHLIGHTS:

For the third time in three games between the Bienfait Coalers and Midale Mustangs, home-ice advantage would hold true.

Thanks to another stellar game from goaltender Jackson Walliser, the Coalers skated to a convincing 6-1 victory over the Mustangs on Tuesday night inside the Bienfait Memorial Arena.

Keegan Malaryk (#27) & Wyatt Garagan (#81) Both Scored.

Bienfait's league-leading offence got rolling early, with goals from Wyatt Garagan (19), Keegan Malaryk (13) and Dustin Stepp (7) to jump out to a 3-0 lead. Midale's Kaelum Bieber (3) got the Mustangs on the board before the intermission to make it 3-1 after one.

Hunter Piche (9) and Kyle Garagan (7) added to the lead for the Coalers in the 2nd period to make it 5-1 for Bienfait. Late in the 2nd period, an errant high-stick caught Bieber in the mouth and the Midale forward had his teeth immediately knocked out on the play.

In the final period, Midale was unable to close the gap despite two separate 4-minute powerplay opportunities. Tyson Price (1) chipped in another goal for the Coalers to make it a 6-1 final for Bienfait.

With the win, Bienfait (12-6-0) breaks a tie with Yellow Grass and is now in sole possession of 4th overall in the league standings, just two points back of Wawota with the Coalers having a game in hand. Midale (9-8-0) drops their third straight game and remains in 6th spot, two points ahead of Oxbow.

The next Big Six broadcast on CJ1150 is set for Friday, January 26th with the Oxbow Huskies visiting the Midale Mustangs at 8pm from the Harry O. Memorial Arena in Midale.
