The Estevan Crown Cubs concluded their provincial run with a split in wins and losses, as they competed in the Peewee AA Tier 4 tournament over the weekend.

Although things started rough, with a 13-1 defeat at the hands of the Muenster Red Sox, they rebounded. The Cubs doubled the Saskatoon Blue Jay Dirtbags 14-7 and pounded the Canora Reds 21-9, before eventually falling 22-11 to the Moosomin Rangers, just short of the semi finals.

"The boys ran into some stiff competition," said Coach Adrian Fraser, noting that Muenster proved particularly well put together, "They played well. The bats were hot. They were a little bit weak on the defensive side of things, which ultimately cost us the tiebreaker, but other than that they played great. It was a great weekend."

Looking ahead at the next season, he added that a large number of their current players will be moving on, but a strong new crop of kids will be quickly moving in to take their place.
