Estevan was well represented at the 2018 Canadian Trapshooting Championships hosted at Brandon June 27-July 1st and won many prestigious titles.

Logan and  Reg King for the second year in a row were successful at the Canadian Trapshooting Championships.  Logan was again crowned the Junior Doubles Champion and Reg King is the Class D Doubles Champion.

Sam Meek, 14 years old,  attended his first major shoot and was crowned the Sub-Jr Doubles Champion.

Jason Coldwell earned the High All Around Class C Champion.

Logan tied for the Junior Handicap Champion and lost in an exciting shootout in the rain.

Trapshooting is a game of movement, action and split-second timing. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4 1/4 inch disc which is hurled through the air at a speed of 42mph, simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter.

In doubles, the shooters must break two targets launched from the trap house simultaneously. One clay pigeon flies to the left while the other flies to the right. The target path remains constant, but the challenge is if the shooter can hit both targets before they hit the ground. Each target is scored individually, not as a pair.
