Another Beach Bash is now in the books and by all accounts, it was an amazing two days of fun.

"It was a very busy two days," says Joanne Schulte Parks Manager at Woodlawn Regional Park. "We had an excellent turnout. A lot of people who came Friday, they returned Saturday and it was very good."

"The weather cooperated, a little too good, it was very hot but at least we didn't get rained on."

She adds that it was hard to pick out a highlight since every aspect of the event was busy and people had fun everywhere.

"That's hard to pinpoint because there's so much happening all at the same time. Every area we saw a lot of activity."

"The family entertainment was excellent this year. There were lots of kids who attended, they had a real good time. The rock wall was amazing, there was a treasure hunt, a petting zoo, bouncy castles."

"The beach volleyball was well attended, there were lots of people watching that. The stage shows were great, the family entertainment and the cabarets."

She reported that there were no major issues or problems over the two days.

"We had obvious security at the area and they did a really good job and there were no reported incidents to us."

Local law enforcement had set up check-stops and stopped numerous vehicles throughout Beach Bash. They reported no impaired charges during that time.

"That is so good to hear because with the security and the police presence and the shuttle bus available, that is the last thing we wanted to happen so that's excellent."
