The second week of March began with some unfortunate events for the Town of Arcola. A water line break on Monday forced a precautionary boil water advisory for the residents.

"When the water line breaks, the water goes all over the place, and we don't want any residents to get sick," explained Assistant Administrator Monika Galloway.

"We had some really good crews repair it all night long. However, you never know what gets into the water system, so once it is fixed, we just wait until we get two tests back from the Water Security Agency saying that the water is safe to drink."

She noted that the water is running. They are just asking residents to boil their water before using it until the WSA gives the go-ahead.

"The tests have been perfect so far, so we just need one more confirmation of that and it's all good to drink," she concluded.

They expect the advisory to lifted, at it's latest, Monday, March 13th.
