According to  Federated Co-operatives Limited, on August 3, anhydrous ammonia was mistakenly added to propane storage tanks at the Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) bulk propane plant six kilometers north of  Estevan on Highway 47. 

A team will begin to empty the tank by flaring. This is expected to begin at 10:00 am today today and can last as long as 60 hours. 

A fire truck will be on site during the process should any problems arise. 

There have been no injuries and no customers have been affected.

FCL is also reporting that all pressurized liquids and vapours associated with the incident have been contained and were not released into the environment. 

Local and provicnial authorities aliong with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment, RCMP, Estevan Fire Department and Rural Municipality of Estevan are working with FCL to bring about a conclusion.

Residents in the area have been contacted.
