Environment Canada issued a wind warning at 4:27 Wednesday morning, with gusts expected to reach 90 kph in Estevan by around noon.

The warning says the northwesterly winds will develop, strengthening to 60 kph, with gusts at 90, by midday.

"Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur," read the warning. "Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches."

Environment Canada expects the winds to calm overnight. But gusts are expected to return on Thursday, reaching speeds of 70 kph.
