The Estevan Big Dogs weekend ended on a down note as they were defeated by the Saskatoon Smash by a score of 17-4.

The Big Dogs were playing with a short bench yesterday as a lot of players had other commitments. Some players were injured like Captain Ryan Curzon.

Big Dogs Assistant Head Coach Jody Harris thinks the loss can be a learning experience for the Big Dogs. "Sasktoon Lacrosse had been hard and strong for a lot years, we are new, we are 8 seasons in. There is a lot to learn and that is what are teams are doing when we play these Saskatoon teams. We try to  find some things they do well and why they doing it well and we are trying to do it the next time we play them."

The Big Dogs will wrap up the regular season on Friday when they take on the Regina Rifles.

The playoffs are a weekend tournament that will go July 2-4.
